The browser interface can be used from any location with
access to the internal LAN or the Internet. This interface could be Internet
Explorer 6.0 SP 1. Part of the initial administration is required before
administration of the Communication Manager messaging server. Therefore, the
system administrator can use the Communication Manager server's browser
interface to back up or restore messaging data, check the system status and
check for alarms.
From the
Communication Manager server brower interface, the administrator also accesses
the Web administration pages, from which it is possible to perform a large
number of tasks, including IMIA administration, checking the status of the
channel and access to the logs . Through messaging web pages, the system
administrator can:
View
information, enter information, access menus or select available system
options.
Access the
system's online help and online help for the data entry fields in the window.
The system administrator performs some administrative
tasks using the telephone, including registration:
Subscriber
names. This activity is optional. Customers can register their names.
Networked
machine names. For network information, see Digital Network Administration.
Menu options
and auto attendant.
The voice menu
options that callers hear are actually personal greetings that the customer
registers for the auto attendant extension. You can also use multiple personal
greetings to provide different menus and options for different types of
callers. For an overview of the auto attendant features, see Auto Attendants
and Bulletin Boards.
