F5
support
F5
support operates with an already validated and tested contingency and disaster
plan. This plan ensures global business continuity and allows us to continue to
provide customer support 24/7.
Hardware
services
Just
before the outbreak of COVID-19, F5 devoted time, business resources and human
energy to developing a business continuity plan under which F5’s global
logistics services now operate. The persons responsible for storing the F5
spare parts warehouse network, coordinating the delivery of parts with each
customer, and sending and fulfilling orders for hardware replacement or
material return authorization (RMA) work remotely.
At
the same time, governments and local authorities on a global basis understand
that teleworking maintains the economy, albeit at a slower pace. As a result,
the F5 continues to provide critical hardware to support remote operation
globally.
Fulfilling
hardware orders
Like
all electronic products, the F5 supply chain depends on partners around the
world and we have seen some disruption upstream due to COVID 19. The
fulfillment of Coronavirus viruses is not currently affected by F5 customer
orders. However, we have adjusted delivery times on limited platforms as we
continue to work to reduce customer impact. Any long-term impact of the supply
chain can affect future deliveries, so check F5 regularly for updates.
Hardware
replacement
The
F5 continues to meet its hardware replacement obligations, or RMA, with
performance basically the same as under normal conditions.
International
shipments
F5
has primary partnerships with major carriers FedEx and DHL, both of which have
successfully adapted to the current environment and provide the capacity
required by F5 in its global operations. At the same time, the vast majority of
countries continue to clear basic goods. These two factors in combination
maintain the flow of F5 spare parts to F5 warehouse and F5 customers. F5 receives
daily updates on normal carrier operations and customs status of individual
countries and adapts to changes as needed.
