what is the difference between computer network and internet?

The essential difference between a network and the Internet is that the network is made up of computers that have a physical connection and can be used as personal computers and share information with each other. On the other hand, the Internet is a technology that connects these small and large networks and builds a larger network.

Network definition

A network is a collection of interconnected autonomous computers. These linked computers can share information with each other. However, these systems also work independently. A computer network is a product that we obtain by combining two technologies which are computers and communication. As a result, this combination of computer and network culminates in providing a unified system that distributes all types of data and information. Data communication and data processing are different. Likewise, there is no significant difference between data, voice and video communication.

Key networking technologies are designed and engineered for a specific purpose. For example, different organizations manage their own network that connects different departments and personnel systems of that organization. Therefore, each organization and company selects the appropriate hardware technology for their specific communication and budget needs.

Furthermore, it was inconvenient to build a universal network technology because a single network cannot serve all needs. Some applications require high-speed networks to connect computers in a building. Economical technologies that meet the requirement of covering large geographical distances and low-speed network connection devices cannot be located very far apart.
